![]() I know what your thinking, why would someone like this be interested in poetry? Well let me tell you. I find poetry is an expression of the heart and soul just like art is. In some cases songs are poetry set to music. I've come across several poems, quotes and what have ya, that have either struck home or inspired me. So without further stalling, here they are. All work copyright their respective owners Quotes "I do not agree with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it" - Voltaire "I am whatever you say I am. If I wasnt, then why would I say I am?" - Eminem "A real friend is one who walks in when the rest of the world walks out." "If all my friends were to jump off a bridge, I wouldn't jump with them, I'd be at the bottom to catch them." "Everyone hears what you say, friends listen to what you say, Best friends listen to what you don't say." "When one door closes, another opens. But we often look so regretfully upon the closed door that we don't see the one that has opened for us." - Alexander Graham "Friends are those rare people who ask how we are and then wait to hear the answer." - Ed Cunningham "It is better to be hated for who you are, than loved for who you're not" "I don't want to achieve immortality through my work... I want to achieve it through not dying." - Woody Allen "Live life for today, for tomorrow you die" "A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step." "The journey seems half as long when there is someone to walk it with you." "I write down everything I want to remember. That way, instead of spending a lot of time trying to remember what it is I wrote down, I spend the time looking for the paper I wrote it down on." - Beryl Pfizer "Duct tape is like the force. It has a light side, a dark side, and it holds the universe together...." - Carl Zwanzig Poetry Forever - Adrian Haager
I have no poems,
My life is an open book.
I may not know much
The distance between us
Forever is space. Sometimes when I stare at the wall
Sometimes when I stare at the TV
Sometimes when I stare out the window
Sometimes when I stare at you
Sometimes when I stare at myself
I lost the most important thing in the world to me today
I don't know what I'm going to do now
What should I do now that everyone else hates me
I lost the most important thing in the world to me today
I'm running out of things to do
I lost my best friend today
The other car didn't expect me to be where I was
Life isn't fair sometimes
She was the victim
Follow me
Oh, where or where can my baby be?
We were out on a date in my daddy's car
Oh, where or where can my baby be?
When I woke up the rain was pourin' down
It's not enough to have a dream
It's not enough to know what's right
It's not enough to join the crowd,
I must be true to my ideals,
It's not enough to learn the truth
It's not enough to reach for love
I keep my paint brush with me
I'd like to remove all my paint coats
Now my coats are all stripped off.
I had a friend who died one day
I didn't think I would feel this way, again
I finally found someone,
You've stood by me when I needed a friend
Even thought it's hard to explain the way I feel inside, and Stuff Masks We all wear masks. Some have more than others and we may wear them at different times, but we all have them. People act different at work than they do at home, and they act different online than they do in life. Living Never let people tell you how to live your life. People like that are unhappy with their own and want to live yours for you. You are your own person, so go out and be who you want to be. The Road of Life One night I dreamt that I was walking alone down the road of life. The road ahead was rocky and very mountainous. The road behind me was flat with very few rocks. I stopped for a second on this road, looked around and realized the reason for the change. A sign next to the road read: Congratulations on Graduating. I looked to the other side of the road to see a sign that read: Welcome to the real world. Just before I starting walking again, someone stumbled up behind me. She tripped and almost fell, but I managed to catch her. I helped her back to her feet and we talked for a while. I paused for a second and realized that I was at a crossroads. The road she had taken was already bumpy and hilly with a few pot holes. I looked at where her path was going and noticed it was too dark for me to see anything. We both decided to take a short break on our roads of life and chatted with each other. We got to know each other pretty well and exchanged ideas, gifts, and other simple things. When we got back up to continue on our journeys we only saw one road. It was still rocky but the hills wernt so bad. Taking her by the hand, we started down the road together and into the hills and valleys of life. It was then that I realized life is much easier to live if there is someone there to live it with. Love is... I feel that if you really love someone that you should be able to step back and let them do what they need to do. whether it be find themself, have personal space or whatever. "true love waits" I feel it applies in many instances. If you truly love someone you will wait for them. You will be able to wait until the time is right before entering any kind of relationship other than friendship..... also, because Love is such a complex emotion which sorta kinda involves other emotions, its important to know if you truly love someone. love is many many things. and many different things to different people. but I feel that you have to be able to talk to the person for hours if not days on end with out getting tired, you can sit with them and stare at absoulutly nothing, thinking of nothing but them..... love is more than a soft touch, or a warm kiss, its being there when stuff happens, its holding them when they cry, its giving them the space to try new things for themselves when they ask, and then helping them succeed, its being there to catch them when they fall, helping them pick up the pieces from mistakes they've made Soliloquy - from Evangelion-R Know this, know that there is mortality in every moment. The living infinity of possibilities ceases and dies and stirs no more and we are left with what we have become. But despair of this knowledge can do us no good and there is yet cause to hope. There may still be time enough for dreams and love if the apparitions of the past can be dispelled. For there is no betrayal more cruel than that of one that enslaves himself to the morbid past and loses the best of what he might have gained to the savoring of sorrow. Be not afraid and with glad arms embrace life. Its myriad pleasures and discontents. For, there can be nothing of happiness but that we hazard despair.
